Liam Neeson’s son Micheál has revealed he turned to drugs and partying following his mother’s death.
Natasha Richardson died when he was just 13-years-old after suffering a head injury while on a skiing holiday.
Micheál, who is now 19, told the Sunday Times Style magazine: “I was going out, partying a lot, looking for self-gratification. I wanted to be the man, doing these drugsEverybody said, "This kid has lost his mum, that's where the problem comes from". “And I was like, "No, it isn't, I just like to party". But looking back, I realise it was a delayed reaction.”
Micheál, who is now working as a fashion gallery curator, checked into rehab last year after he “hit rock bottom”.
He says his dad – actor Liam- and his brother Daniel, 18, helped him get back on the straight and narrow.,He went on to admit that “not having the mother figure definitely set the balance of the family off.”
Last year his dad Liam opened up about the heartbreaking moment his wife’s life support machine was turned off.
The actor admitted he still can't believe it's real, and said every time he hears the door open, he expects to "hear her"Speaking in an interview with Loaded magazine, Liam said: "Her death was never real. It still kind of isn't.
"There's periods now when I hear the door opening, especially the first couple of years... anytime I hear that door opening, I still think I'm going to hear her.                                 "                                       WireImage
