NO AMOUNT OF SENTIMENT CAN BRING PDP BACK TO POWER – Buhari
The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd), has said that no amount of sentiment would make the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) continue in power after this weekend’s presidential election.
Buhari stated this yesterday during his town hall meeting with political leaders, traditional rulers and religious leaders in Imo State.
He maintained that the PDP has thrown the country into turmoil, noting that the urge to vote the party out is not based on religion but patriotism by the people who are yearning for change.
“We are in trouble in this country; PDP cannot help us; let us vote them out; it is not about religion but patriotism; PDP has completely failed us. If you leave them for 20 years, they will still not perform.
“Nigeria is being ridiculed all over the world because of their bad governance; Igbo people know this because they are mobile all over the world; APC represents freedom of security and integrity; they know this; so, no amount of sentiment will bring PDP back to power,” Buhari stated.
He stressed that after 16 years, instead of the economy of the country to thrive, it becomes worse by the day as a result of bad governance by the PDP, listing the dwindling oil sector and the devaluation of the naira as some of the shameful governance style of the party.
Okorocha Raises The Alarm Over Alleged Plans By PDP To Rig Election With Security Chiefs
Imo State governor Rochas Okorocha has raised the alarm over alleged plans to rig the forthcoming presidential and other elections in the state by the PDP using security chiefs to perfect their plan.
Okorocha, who raised the alarm during the town hall meeting of Gen. Muhammadu Buhari with some stakeholders in Imo State, further alleged that the present transfer of the security chiefs in the state such as the state commissioner of police, AbdulMajid Ali, and other key officers that will be involved in the conduct of the election to other states justifies their rigging plans.
“PDP has transferred the state commissioner of police to another state; they have also transferred the former resident electoral commissioner and brought their brother from Cross River State; the state NYSC director has also been transferred and they brought somebody from Cross River; this is their plan to rig the election but I have declared myself the people’s General; nobody shall rig the election”, Okorocha said.

The governor of Lagos State, Mr Babatunde Raji Fashola, has described the federal government’s claims on some projects in the country as lies.
He particularly described the two million jobs’ claim of the federal government and the 25,000km road projects as lies of the century.
“If they calculate 37 states by 2 million, that should be about 57,000 jobs per state; how many have you seen in Imo? They said they did 25,000km roads; if you calculate it, that means they have built roads from Lagos to London”, Fashola stated.
