Nigeria enters day 2 of the presidential and National Assembly elections. The extension came as a result of technical problems associated with the use of card readers.
The Independent National Electoral Commission announced on March 28, yesterday, that voting would continue on Sunday at 300 out of 150,000 polling stations.
Meanwhile the counting is already ongoing and preliminary results from some units were obtained this night.
As it was expected, the competition is observed between Goodluck Jonathan, the Peoples Democratic Party, and Muhammadu Buhari, the All Progressives Congress.

7:04 It was earlier reported by Leadership that there would be restricted movement during the voting exercise on Sunday. Howeve @Gidi_Traffic has just tweeted in response to a user’s question that there is “No Restriction Today”

6:53 Despite failures observed on March 28, the APC urges the INEC to use card readers on Sunday. The party states that the only exception should be made in cases where the card readers fail.

6:15 Tragedy in River state where scores of APC members and supporters were killed and injured yesterday. Speaking about killings in Kpite and other parts of the state, the APC said that hoodlums suspected to be acting for the PDP were involved.

6:12 The APC also won the polling unit of Nigeria’s former president Olusegun Obasanjo. At the polling unit, Ward 11, Unit 2, Shokori, Abeokuta North LGA, Ogun state, the APC received 100 of votes, while the PDP got 16 (The Punch).

6: 10 President Goodluck Jonathan has lost to Muhammadu Buhari in both polling units located in Aso Villa (The Nation). Buhari polled a total of 613 votes, while Jonathan received a total of 595 votes
