The Game Drops the Official Release Date for The Documentary 2....

The Game revealed to REVOLT that his follow-up to 2005’s The Documentary will arrive on June 30. Though it is 10 years and 4 albums since the original album, the much anticipated follow-up is finally on its way and The Game says it couldn’t have come at a more important time.
“I feel like I could’ve released it after The Documentary, but 10 years later seems perfectly fine,” said Game. “It’s my sixth album, my sixth solo album, and I think that the 10th anniversary is huge. And so why not put it out 10 years later?”
Also, to make it even more of a perfect release date, it is also the birthday of his first son, Harlem, who appeared on the original Documentary cover. “The actual Documentary 2 is going to drop on my son’s birthday, June 30, ’cause I think it’s big. It’s kinda perfect timing,” said Game.
The love for his children will continue to inspire him and give him the drive to get in the studio and give us great albums like the original Documentary as he says they always have. “I use my kids for energy. I look at them and I go out and we’ll be talking about The Documentary 30th anniversary if I use them for the fuel and the motivation. I love my kids dearly. Being a father, that’s my calling.”
With the first single Soundtrack featuring Meek Mill and Ambitionz of a Rida featuring DeJ Loaf, it is clear that Game has evolved as an artist since that first beloved solo venture that has since stapled it’s self into rap history. The west coast MC seems to feel a strong urge to make it clear he has progressed way beyond that first album over the years. “I listen to my first album and everybody thinks it’s so amazing, but I think I’m better than that. I listen to it and I hear all the flaws in the young me, and I’m like, ‘Man, I would’ve never did this song like that today.'”
As The Game continues to progress to even greater heights in this game of hip-hop, the culture grows with him and we look forward to his continued contributions to hip-hop. This album promises to have some head bangers sure to guide us to through this hot summer.
