A Nigerian military spokesman said the rebels were fleeing a ground-and-air offensive in the Sambisa forest. Military chiefs from Nigeria and four neighbouring countries (Chad, Niger, Cameroon and Benin) will meet next week to finalise plans for a regional ground force of eight-thousand-seven-hundred troops, to address the threat from Boko Haram.
